AATCC TM6-2021, Test Method for Colorfastness to Acids and Alkalis

1. Purpose and Scope
1.1 Test specimens are evaluated for change in color when spot tested with acid, or steeped in alkali fumes in a laboratory setting. These test methods are applicable to textiles made from all fibers in the form of yarns or fabrics, whether dyed, printed or otherwise colored..
2. Principle
2.1 The specimens are steeped in or spotted with the required solutions by means of simple laboratory equipment. The tested specimens are examined for changes in color.
